I saw fIREHOSE nearly a dozen times when I was a youngster. Some of their performances were AMAZING, mind-blowingly tight, rocking sets of their dense minimalist post-punk spiel... This is not one of them. Still, like sex and pizza, when fIREHOSE is good, they're incredible. And when they are bad... well, they are still pretty good. (And they aren't bad on this performance.) I'm not sure why they chose this performance from the Palomino as the live performance of record... I have heard bootlegs that are better, but I guess it's a matter of "go with what you have."
