I purchased the original vinyl release of Sarah Live In Japan back in 1979, which only included half the performance. The second half was released a few years later but I never got hold of it. So, now I'm thrilled to have the complete performance on this 2 CD set. I believe this set is now out of print, so I was very lucky to come by it.This perfectly captures Sarah's sound of the seventies. With her amazing voice and musical instincts she was able to adapt to the popular rhythms and style of that period while maintaining high musical standards in both her vocalizing and arrangements. She swings hard, yet can take on a contemporary song such as Rainy Days and Mondays and find in it a beautifully emotional ballad.The trio behind her is fabulous. Very supportive but never get in Sarah's way.
