Description

Just as the early days of infancy influence adult life in many ways, the era in American History immediately after the great depression and World War II have had an immense bearing on the present-day life-style in the United States. at a time when Americans were struggling to come to terms with the rapid transition that followed World War II, many educators took it upon themselves to instruct and educate them on relevant issues. This DVD provides a rare opportunity to examine some of the films that were produced in the Post-War Era in an effort to inform, guide, motivate and educate people on a wide range of subjects from road safety to social issues.

Aparently in the days of the depression, California was still sort of a wild west with a lot of areas having people who really didn't know how to live in this new environment. Additionally modern machines and automobiles were aparently daunting when it came to creating new safety issues. In response to this the California governement made these movies to teach people how to live in modern california. It seems silly today that t hey had to teach people how to drive on the road or how to avoid heatstroke but aparently this was needed. I liked the overall historical perspective and it made me realize how far we have come in a couple generations.
