This live album is consecrated basically to Domenico Scarlatti, one of the most influencing composers in Bach's artistic trajectory (the other three were Couperin, Buxtehude and Vivaldi).Ponti gives us a remarkable, vivacious and sensitive approach around these Sonatas. The first six (K. 27, K. 245, K. 101, k. 175, K. 32 and K. 119) date from Düsseldorf, 1979. The followinf four date from Munich, 1983 (K. 413, k. 495, K. 352 and K. 345), while the final correspond to Düsseldorf again but performed in 1993 (K. 338 and K. 345)Particularly effective are the K. 101, the serene radiance of the K. 175, but to my mind the jewel of the crown was his cosmic interpretation of the Sonata K 32, in just tree seconds the universe appears before us with majestic wholeness.Respect the Liszt's Etudes after Paganini, we must remark Ponri makes a bravura performance filled of zealous details of modulation filled of supreme expressiveness without lacking musicality.Don't miss this extraordinary album that reveals still more the enormous repertoire of this one-of a-kind artist
