Description

Recorded live in Copenhagen in 2010, iconic Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts joins The Danish Radio Big Band for a legendary one-off concert. On this release, Watts revisits his musical past of living in Demark briefly in the early 1960s sitting in with jazz and blues bands. Original pieces and big band takes on Stones classics fill this title with a dynamic listening experience sure to excite classic rock fans and jazz-heads alike. 2 LP set.

Charlie Watts' latest offering is among his best! The man just keeps getting better with each project, this one being no exception. Why it took seven years to debut will remain a mystery to me, but I can tell you that it was well worth the wait. While all the songs are brilliantly executed, I am especially fond of his renditions of his "other" band's tunes, his deft arrangements of the familiarities making them his own. My only real complaint is the length of the recording as it's ended before you know it, but I guess that's what's meant by the old show business adage, "Always leave them wanting more!" Well, Charlie certainly manages to do so here. Thanks again, Amazon, for another "satisfying" transaction!
