FEVER 2002 is what I had anticipated with a KYLIE MINOGUE concert DVD & I was not disappointed - rather, I was Thrilled!! FEVER 2002 is everything SHOWGIRL is not: Modern (even though now it's 15 years old; still ultra-modern & cool!), Funky, Fun, Sexy & Enthusiastic!!!FEVER 2002 is 100% high-octane energy & effervescence from the opener to fantastic encores & closing number the absolute peak of spectacular!! Kylie's shows will usually have a theme or several. With FEVER 2002 among them are futuristic and urban/street chic. The stage sets, costumes, projection screens & lighting change for each Act (or set), all of them imaginative & innovative, using a bold, bright kaleidoscope of 'Crayola' crayon-colors throughout!!! I'll break some of it down, but if you think you'll enjoy the show, I also strongly encourage you to watch the accompanying documentary, which is extremely entertaining & interesting. While you see how much Kylie and all of the performers are having fun & enjoying themselves & it's a strong electrical current between them & the Manchester, England audience, in the documentary, there's no spoils; it takes that feeling of comradery between Kylie and her entourage & let's us, the fans share in it.Show opens with a very "space-age" set design & Kylie arriving in shiny metal suit & helmet, which opens to reveal Kylie dressed in silver sequin bralette & matching miniskirt with thigh-high silver boots!! Her dancers are in what appeared to be rubber, or some similar substance head to toe, including faces. This was for the 1st act. I believe it was in this act, that bright red glossy lips were on the projection screens and dancers had changed to something just as bright, but revealing their faces!For one Act (I believe possibly the 2nd) the stage was set as a gorgeous boudoir with oversize animal-print chaises, male dancers in same animal print robes, opening to reveal animal print bikini-slings! Kylie and gals costumed in attractive, sexy bustiers and corselettes with chandeliers overhead (watch documentary on this; I don't leave any "spoils" in reviews!) Kylie performed a unique, vampy "Locomotion"! The next was a favorite of mine, opening with a male dancer/acrobat with a funky, urban setting, him spray-painting a wall & Kylie rising up as the cop who would show him who's boss!! Then the rest of the dancers & back-up singers joined Kylie and they were all dressed as urban breakdancers & that was the special feature of this particular Act, the most fun & funky, which included a really rousing, enthusiastic & bodacious performance of "Kids"!! (the song which Kylie and Robbie Williams made famous on their duet/which doesn't come close to Kylie's FEVER 2002 rendition!!)Encore - Everything red, exotic, flowers on screens, dancers painted like Aussie Aborigines, Kylie rising up & up & up in a billowing red, a sort of a canopy & you'll have to watch it to see what was revealed!! By the closing number, the entire audience was whipped into a frenzy!!! On projection screens flames billowed & it was in this Act where Kylie sang an alluring, sexy and enthralling cover of "I Feel Love"!!FEVER 2002 fully exhibits why Kylie's a Top Pop Performer (but no Diva here!) who's pert, cute, cheeky, charming, winsome & enchanting!!! She somehow manages to smile throughout entire show, including while singing and dancing!!! Kylie MInogue wraps a powerhouse of personality in a petite, beautiful & beguiling presence!! All her hits are here, including extras...some may be performed a little differently than the original, but all highly stylized and more than any other positive adjective I can use: FUN!!!
