Description

The Sonics are revered by garage rock fans worldwide, but they have always carried a little more weight in the Pacific Northwest. They are to Washington what Springsteen is to Jersey. So in early 2015 when the band dropped their first new record in 50 years, Easy Street Records in Seattle was their destination to celebrate Record Store Day with friends and fans. Performing to a standing room only crowd on RSD 2015, recorded by KEXP, and mixed and mastered by the great Jack Endino, the band ferociously tore through the night joined by a stream of luminaries paying respects to the kings of the Northwest. “Live at Easy Street" is what that evening sounded like. Now, celebrate Record Store 2016, because THIS IS THE SONICS. Limited to 3500 copies. i know pearl jam has released like tons of bootlegs and live concerts cds....but what makes the difference in this one, is that: this is only a 7 song EP and in which Pearl Jam played only for a few lucky local fans and bystanders that were that evening on Easy Street records store in west-Seattle, and in which 3 of the songs are covers that had never been released in cd before, 1 of the songs ('Half Full') is a song that they do not often play at their shows, and the other 3 are long favourites ('Lukin','Save You','Porch') but still are not as repetitive and less-emotive as Evenflow or Jeremy (that now seems that everytime Pearl Jam plays them, is like they do it by obligation and just want to get over with quickly so they sing them like in a rush).this EP is then a very rare live set, and as it was recorded in a small venue, has a raw and more personal vibe that you can feel when listenting to it, so it is definitely a must have item for any pearl jam fan and collector!
