Personally, as a long-time fan of Joe Satriani, I think this album is mind-blowing. I loved Steve Vai on another G3, with Eric Johnson, that I own, and his performance here is electrifying. I had never listened to Malmsteen, and I really enjoyed the direct compare/contrast offered by having his blazing guitar work along side the alien and Vai.And since you would have stopped reading by now if you didn't like Jimi Hendrix, allow me to point out that between Red House, Voodoo Child and Little Wing you could almost consider this a Hendrix tribute album. There is a part in Little Wing when they are all harmonizing with each other in what must be some of the most amazing music ever played.Anyway, if you have only read this review to reaffirm your derision for "fast guitar" then please, by all means, continue to be a boring stick in the mud. But if you ever happen to pick up a guitar, just remember who the master is.
